The importance of intertidal flats as areas of nitrogen filtering has become increasingly apparent in recent times. The growth of intensive livestock farming in the central depression of southern Chile (40° S) during the last century has resulted in elevated emissions of inorganic nitrogen (N) compounds into the atmosphere, particularly of NH3. Consequently, atmospheric N has been deposited to lakes, vegetation, and soil. Much attention has been paid to wet N deposition in southern Chile, while almost nothing is known about dry N deposition in this region. The aim of this study was to evaluate dry matter yield and nutritional value of palisade grass (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu) using nitrogen doses and sprinkler irrigation in two periods of the year, aiming at reducing seasonality of forage production. It was used a randomized block design in a split-plot scheme, with five doses of nitrogen (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 kg/ha/cut), and the sub-plots were defined by the seasons of the year (wet and dry season), with and without irrigation. Rice in Rio Grande do Sul State is grown mostly under flooding, which induces a series of chemical, physical and biological changes in the root environment. These changes, combined with the presence of rice plants, affect the availability of exchangeable ammonium (NH4+) and pH of soil solution, whereas the dynamics of both variables can be influenced by soil salinity, a common problem in the coastal region. A exploracao da cultura do milho, no Nordeste brasileiro, e feita geralmente sob condicoes de dependencia de chuva. Neste trabalho, estudou-se o efeito da lamina de irrigacao, conteudo de agua no solo, adubacao nitrogenada e interacao entre esses fatores na producao de graos de milho. Verificou-se que a aplicacao de agua e nitrogenio causaram efeito linear, aumentando a producao de graos de milho, dentro dos limites estudados e analisados. |

O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a produtividade da cana-de-açúcar transplantada em sistema de plantio direto após o cultivo do sorgo biomassa, em função de doses de nitrogênio aplicadas no plantio. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de quatro doses de nitrogênio (0, 20, 40 e 60 kg ha-1). A variedade de cana-de-açúcar utilizada foi a IAC SP 911099, transplantada em sistema de plantio direto após o cultivo do sorgo biomassa BRS 716. Neste trabalho estudou-se o efeito do nivel de agua no solo e da adubacao nitrogenada, e interacao entre estes fatores, sobre a producao e componentes de producao de graos de milheto. O delineamento do experimento foi em blocos casualizados, com arranjos em parcelas subdivididas (split-plot) com quatro repeticoes. Os tratamentos constaram de combinacao de quatro niveis de agua e quatro niveis de fertilizacao nitrogenada. O regime de irrigacao caracterizado em termos de aplicacao de agua, teor de umidade de solo, agua disponivel no solo e potencial matricial de agua no solo, aumentou a producao de graos. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of urea fertiliser on the bromeliad, Aechmea fasciata. Plants were submitted to weekly treatments with a solution of 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 g urea L-1. After 210 days of the experiment, biometric variables of growth and development of the root and shoot systems were analysed, together with foliar levels of chlorophyll a and b, and of carotenoids. The experimental design was of randomised blocks with four replications; eight plants were used per plot. The data were submitted to regression analysis. Nitrogen removal in soybean grains at harvest may exceed biological N2 fixation, particularly if grain yields are as high as typically achieved on "Terra Rossa" soils of Eastern Paraguay. The objective of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of nitrogen fixing inoculum associated with Co + Mo leaf spray on the common bean grain yield and grain nutrients, cv. FT Nobre. Three dosages of the inoculant (0, 200 and 400 g/50 kg seeds), combined with four Co + Mo leaf spray levels (T0=0,0; T1=4.9,49; T2=7.3,73; and T3=9.7,97 g ha-1 of Co and Mo, respectively) were tested. The grain yield with the use of the inoculant (400 g / 5O kg seed-1) associated with the higher level of Co+Mo (T2 and T3) was very similar to the mineral nitrogen condition fertilizer recommended for the bean (70 kg ha-1 of N).
